If you’ve been in business for a substantial amount of time, say five or 10 years, then you should be sitting on potential treasure, your database of past customers.
Unfortunately, many of the contractors I know only look at these records when a past customer calls them. But what you should be doing is using this database as a reason for you to call the customer.
Look, if you got a good CRM, you should be able to sort customers based on the work you’ve done for them.
Look at your water heater installs from five years ago and give them a call offering a free water heater inspection.
Look up your sump pump installations from three years ago and give them a call offering a free sump pump inspection.
Same goes for AC tune-ups, duct cleanings, and any number of maintenance services.
People love that you are actually thinking about them, and it’s a great way to generate extra revenue when things are slow.
