A while back, I made a video titled “SEO is Dead” (yeah, maybe a little dramatic 😆). In that video, I disagreed with the Chief Scientist at Moz who said:
“People expect Google to take them to a website, or they won’t use Google.”
Nope. I completely disagree. 🤷♂️
People Don’t Care About Websites—They Want Information
Whether it’s from:

✅ A Google Business Profile
✅ A Google ad
💡 They just want answers.

The folks over at Near Media summed it up perfectly—Google used to be the gateway to the internet.
Now? Google is the gateway to Google.
