Consider this an informal pep talk as I enjoy my morning coffee as the sun comes up here in Austin.
One of the biggest misconceptions I hear about Google pay-per-click advertising for home services — such as plumbing, HVAC, or roofing — is that the private equity shops with tons of money are going to gobble up all the ad space, and it’s a waste of time for a smaller contractor to do Google Ads with a smaller budget.
This is 100% wrong.
All the private equity money may be driving up the cost of Google Ads,
but if you can pony up the cost per click, then Google will make sure your ads run —
even if your budget is 10, 5, or even 2% of the private equity guys.
And this is huge, because if you have a seat at the Google Ads table,
you can beat the private equity guys online.
And here’s why: they might be great at creating operational efficiencies,
but from my experience, they kind of suck at doing Google Ads.
I see many of them making rookie errors when it comes to headlines, ad copies, and landing pages.
So if you do Google Ads right, this is your chance to beat the private equity guys online.
All right — time to have a little bit more coffee.
You guys have a great day and get in the game with Google Ads and start fighting back.
Take care.
