This article from Forbes blew my mind.
Apparently, younger consumers are ditching Google in favor of social media.
The article shows that:
📊 35% of Millennials and 46% of Gen Z prefer social media over Google for search.
Now, this hasn’t really bled into local services yet—66% of Gen Z still uses Google.
But I want to know—where are the other one in three young consumers going?
And that’s the question you need to be asking.
I can tell you where they won’t be—Facebook.
While every other generation has 70%+ usage of Facebook, Gen Z has completely abandoned the platform.
Look, I’m not telling you to abandon Facebook or aim all your marketing at 18 to 25-year-olds.
But think outside the box:
🎯 Run ads on YouTube
📱 Start a DIY TikTok channel
📸 Post plumbing fails on Instagram
Put yourself where younger consumers are—before your competitors do.
