If your website’s on page two, then you’re just screwed. From the information I’ve gathered, Google will be getting rid of continuous scroll and replacing it with pagination.
What though is continuous scroll and pagination? It means that when you’re on Google, it’s just one continuous infinite page. Now though, we’re going back to pagination. That is clickable page numbers at the bottom of the page.
I know this doesn’t sound very interesting or threatening, but this, my friends, is the puffer fish of headlines. The puffer fish looks harmless enough, but there’s enough toxin in this little guy to kill 30 people.
And there’s enough toxin in this move from Google to kill off many of the clicks beyond page one. There’s a reason why Instagram and TikTok have continuous scroll, because people scroll.
But with the pattern interrupt that is pagination, fewer searchers will get beyond page one.
And page two sucked before, but now if your website’s on page two, then you’re just screwed.
