Answer your damn phone or it’s going to stop ringing. I have called hundreds of contractors. In fact, I’ve probably reached out to more contractors than nearly anyone else in the country.
And I keep OCD-like records as to how these calls go. And damn, some of you folks are dropping the ball.
Almost 20% of you have a voicemail that’s either full or not set up. And many of you have a voicemail message that’s either personal or just not professional.
But you bigger companies have your own issues as well. Forbes found that over 50% of you use an automated phone system. And typically, there’s three to five prompts before you get to a live person.
Look, it’s getting really expensive to make your phone ring. And if you’re not answering these calls efficiently, I can tell you who will be. Your competitor.
Yeah, your competitor. When that potential customer can’t leave you a message or gets frustrated with your phone tree, look, answer your damn phone or it’s going to stop ringing.
