Negative reviews suck, and they really suck when somebody doesn’t have a legitimate gripe with you.
And with Google having customer service that makes the DMV look like a VIP experience, it can be hard to remove those reviews.
So, should you pay to have them removed?
No.
Only Google can remove Google reviews.
So, what should you do?
If the review is what Google considers prohibited or restricted content, then they should remove it.
You can flag it on your business profile, or you can go through Google’s help pages and report it there.
But if it’s just someone who’s given you a negative review for your work, then be proactive.
Respond to the review in a calm manner, and you can even reach out to them and ask them to remove it.
Unfortunately, bad reviews are out of your control.
They’re a reality of owning a business, but how you respond to them isn’t.
Be proactive and don’t get scammed into paying for their removal.
