I’m Not Sure SEO Is Dying—But That Should Scare the Hell Out of You
At the risk of sounding like a lunatic shouting that the end is near…

💬 Is SEO dying?

I didn’t raise that question—Tom Capper, Moz’s Senior Search Scientist, did.

And the quote from Tom that’s getting a lot of attention is:

🗣 “I’m going to tell you that full-funnel organic marketing is borderline impossible in 2024 for most businesses.”

Yikes.
I’ll let you read the article yourself, but Tom does try to land his talk on an optimistic note—and that’s actually what scares the hell out of me.

Here’s Why:
Tom suggests (and I’m paraphrasing):

💬 “People expect Google searches to always return website links.”

I disagree.

👉 I think all people want is for Google to answer their questions.

And they don’t care if that answer is on Google itself or on your website.

The Bottom Line?
🚨 I’m not sure SEO is dying—but that should scare the hell out of you. 🚨
