Mike Blumenthal from Near Media just posted two of the craziest local searches I’ve ever seen.

First Up: “Coffee Shop Near Me”
This search returned almost entirely Google Business Profiles.

✅ There are two carousels with organic web listings
❌ But there are twice as many recipes as organic websites
📹 Plus, there’s a carousel of videos

And if you’re wondering how many business profiles showed up?

👉 32.

But Wait—It Gets Crazier…
This “Lawyer Near Me” search was like:

👉 “Hold my beer.” 🍺

🚨 6 Google Pay-Per-Click Ads
🚨 39 Google Business Profiles
🚨 0 Organic Websites.

Yes, zero.

What’s the Takeaway?
🚨 Google does NOT want you going off-site.
🚨 And off-site is your website.

So, if you’ve put all your marketing eggs in the website basket…
